My latest series of paintings are realistic birds in flight, cut out and floated on the wall so they cast a beautiful shadow. These paintings appear to be flying on the wall. I am also exploring painting realistic birds on natural woodgrain surfaces. I use acrylic paint and enjoy the contrast between the abstract background of the woodgrain and the detailed natural colours of the painted bird. I also often use the organic flowing patterns to represent the bird song.
