In keeping with the Star Wars theme, I have made a large painting of Chewbacca. I was really interested in how far I could push the detail of this work. The fur in particular was great fun to paint with a fine brush, and the multiple layers of colour and tone help to make this painting look quite realistic. I love the movement of the wind in the fur, and the snow settling on him.
This painting is 118 x 58cm and will be exhibited this weekend (Friday 5th Sept) at Framed, an exhibition at St Patrick’s College in Wellington, NZ.
